How can I save my favorite Websites to find them later?
Bookmarks allow you to save the addresses of your favorite sites, so they
can be easily returned to without retyping the address. The process is similar
whether you are using Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer,
although Microsoft calls bookmarks "Favorites."
- Find the site you want to save.
- Go to the Bookmarks (or Favorites) menu and select Add Bookmark.
When you return to the Bookmark menu, the title of the site you
selected will appear at the bottom of the page. To visit, just click your
cursor on the title.
How do I send an E-mail?
The list below shows how to send an e-mail in the Netscape Communicator
browser.
- Double-click on the Netscape Communicator icon. The Netscape browser will
appear.
- Under the file menu, select new and then click the word
message in the new menu that pops up.
- A new window will appear. In this window, type in the e-mail address of the
person you wish to send a message to. You can press Enter to type another
address. You can type as many addresses as you
want. If you do not want to
type another address, just press Enter.
- The cursor will move to the box labeled Subject. In this box, you should
type the subject of your
message. When you are done, press Enter.
- The cursor will move to the large box below the Subject. In this box, you
will type your actual message.
- When you are finished typing your message, click once on the icon labeled
"Send" to send your message.
How do I retrieve my e-mail?
The list below shows how to retrieve e-mail in the Netscape Communicator
browser.
- Double-click on the Netscape Communicator icon. The Netscape browser will
appear.
- Under the Communicator menu, click on Messenger. The Netscape
Messenger window will appear.
- Click on the icon labeled "Get msg". Netscape will attempt to retrieve all
of your new messages.
- Any new messages found will appear in the top right window. Click once on
the message, and the
contents of the message will appear in the lower right
window.
How do I save e-mail addresses that I use often?
You can save and quickly access your most commonly used e-mail addreses in
the Address Book found within any browser. The list below shows the steps for
the Netscape Communicator browser.
- Double-click on the Netscape Communicator icon. The Netscape browser will
appear.
- Under the Communicator menu, click on Address Book. The
Address Book window will appear.
- To add an address to your address book, under the file menu, click
new card.
- A new window will appear. Fill in all necessary information into the
appropriate box on the address card, then click "Ok" to save the address to your
address book.
- To send a message to an address in your address book, double-click on the
address to open a new message to that address.
What do I do with my e-mail once I get them?
You have several choices with incoming mail. He/she can:
- Delete or Trash it before reading the message (highlight message in the
description box and click on "Delete" or "Trash").
- Delete or Trash it after reading the message (same as above).
- Reply to the author of the message by clicking on "Reply" or "Reply To
Sender" (without retyping the sender's address).
- Forward the same incoming message to other by clicking "Forward" and then
typing in the e-mail
address of the person with whom you are sharing the
information.
- Read your message and then simply leave it in the inbox for later review
and/or response.
